MOTHERS 4 EDUCATION IS NOW A REGISTERED NON-PROFIT AGENCY! ALL DONATION MADE TO M4E IS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE!!! In November of 2010, M4E decided to submit our application to become a registered non-profit organization. This was a long process but it was worth the wait! By becoming a registered non-profit, we have opened ourselves up to be able to receive some grant funding from national foundations and some local foundations. December 2010 In November and December, we are all reminded that this is the season for giving. Each year, Carlisle High School sponsors the Bison Tree, which is similar to an angel tree. Children, with the permission of their parents, are allowed to fill out what they would like for Christmas. These are families who struggle to provide on a day to day basis, and feel the added pressure around this time every year. M4E was able to grant Christmas wishes to some of the children. November 2010 M4E received a request from a 4th grade teacher at Carlisle Elementary School. This teacher, along with two others, are the sponsors for the Accelerated Reader Program. 3rd-6th grade students are encouraged to participate in the program. Students must read books at or abover their current reading level, and test on the books. Each book is worth a certain amount of points. Saturday, May 8th, 2010 The Mother's Day Bake Sale Successful!!! Mothers 4 Education sponsored a back sale to help offset the cost of the 2010 Back To School Bash. Desserts could be pre-ordered, or you could pick them up at the old depot (Carlisle Insurance Agency). Many desserts were prepared and many were sold within the first 30 minutes, and ranged from homemade fried pies, homemade bread, cakes, oversized cookie cakes, cookies and pies.
